Privacy Policy
Nearby Best ("we", "us") helps you find highly rated local services. This page explains what information we collect when you use the site and how it's used.
Information we collect
- Search inputs. The service category, distance, and location you type or select are sent to our server to run your search. We do not require an account and do not attach searches to a persistent identity.
- Precise location (optional). If you tap "Use current location," your browser asks your permission and shares your coordinates with us only for that search. We never access your location without this explicit action.
- Basic request metadata. Like most web services, our server briefly logs technical details such as IP address for abuse and rate-limit protection. This is not used to build a profile of you and is not sold or shared with advertisers.
How search results are generated
Search results are retrieved from the Google Places API and Google Geocoding API in response to your query. To keep the site fast and to reduce redundant requests, we may briefly cache geocoded locations and place results on our server for a short period (typically minutes to about a day) before requesting fresh data from Google again. We do not build our own permanent database of business or location data.
Your use of this data is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy and the Google Maps Platform Terms of Service, since the underlying place and location data comes from Google.
Cookies and local storage
Nearby Best does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Any browser storage we use is limited to functional purposes, such as remembering in-page UI state.
Children's privacy
Nearby Best is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
